The Statue

Bronze breath caught mid-row-muscle, motion, memory, all anchored in a quiet green hush

Frozen in time

Forever battling

against the enemy

of fade and oblivion

A quiet hero

sternly youthful

whose muscles are bronzed

by an everlasting effort

and who cries with rusty tears

under the rain

An eternal dream that has come true

somehow

accidentally

or by purpose

in the hands of an artist

that are gone

but their fruit

will stay

A quiet signal

of a longing

we will always

crave for

or fear….
